Recently on a podcast, I was asked, could I have two personality types? The host believed her personality type in college was vastly different than her personality type of today. As we began dissecting why she felt this way, I could see how animated she became talking about her life during college. And yet, I could also see she had been shut down by something or someone since then. As a result, her personality type had become unhealthy and unbalanced.
It appeared that somewhere along the way, her gregarious, people-centered ways were too much, and she was told, aka conditioned, to believe she needed to tone it down. She accepted an untruth. Her people-centered ways are her gifts and part of her TrueSelf, the truth of who she is.
Ok, with full disclosure, I can’t possibly host a guided soul session on a podcast, but what did come to light was her college days were filled with her TrueSelf, a time in life when she was fully living her truth. It’s because she aligned with her dominant trait, the foundational aspect of WHO she really is.

Can a Person Have More than One Personality Type and Why I Believe the Answer is No
I have to say no, and here’s why. I believe our personality is assigned before we incarnate to support our soul’s intentions. We chose a specific personality to help with life’s struggles, challenges, pain, and of course, major crossroads in life. It’s all about Devine Design, a metaphysical law. And please know Divine Intelligence is never random. It’s why the Psychology Today article makes me so sad.
The article in Psychology Today stated 93% of people want to change something about their personality type? I call bullsh#t.
Here’s Why.
Webster defines the word change as; alter, vary, modify to make or become different. It implies making either an essential difference often amounting to a loss of original identity or substituting one thing for another. Loss of original identity, no, no, no.
To discover one’s TrueSelf, you must explore, expand, grow and accept yourself as the person Divine Intelligence created you to be. Why would you want to change that?

We are Spiritual Beings Having a Human Experience
“I don’t want a person to alter or lose their original identity, nor do I want anyone to substitute one thing for another. That would be copying someone else.” Changing a person for career purposes may have been the path of career personality typing originating in the 1950s. Yet, as we become more aware that we are spiritual beings having a human experience, I believe we need to embrace the idea that our personality types and SoulSelves relying on one another to bring about purpose, passion, and transformation.
I believe in this with my whole heart. In fact, it was one of the major life lessons I learned going through my 7-year life tsunami. This lesson helped me discover my TrueSelf. It’s a new theory, one that embraces evolution and transformation, replacing the idea of change!
